Lawn Care FAQs
How often should my lawn be mowed in Derby?
In the growing season (April to October) most lawns benefit from a weekly cut. In hot dry spells or in winter you can drop to fortnightly. We can arrange a regular round that fits your schedule.
What is scarifying and does my lawn need it?
Scarifying is the process of raking out dead grass, moss and thatch from your lawn so air, water and nutrients can reach the roots. Most Derby lawns benefit from a scarify once a year, usually in autumn.
How can I get a thicker, greener lawn?
A combination of regular mowing at the right height, scarifying, aeration, seasonal feeding and overseeding bare patches will transform a tired lawn within a season or two. We offer all of these as part of our lawn care service.
Do you treat moss in lawns?
Yes. We typically scarify out the moss first, then treat and feed to encourage healthy grass to fill the gaps. It is one of the most common requests we get from Derby customers.
